SIGNS

I have given up on fiddling with arranging images using the blogger utility.  I had forgotten how pathetic it was.

Anyway, this is  a simple post mostly about signs I have seen on the street in the vicinity of our hotel.

Most signs are, of course, in Greek, although there is English from time to time.  I feel a certain level of frustration in not being able to read the darn things since I took Classical Greek in college.  Of course, that was a long, long time ago.

No mistaking what this sign says.  Enough said.

It is a mystery to me why a restaurant in Thessaloniki would be named after an early twentieth century German painter of disturbing pictures.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Dix

Well, maybe it's the cool beer.

Sayoko's animal totem is the turtle and Ayumi's is the frog (and the owl), so I decided mine should be the lizard.  If I ever open a cafe, I am going to steal this name and the design.

OK, this is not a sign, but I put it in because there is graffiti everywhere.  I occasionally see graffiti that shows great visual power and complexity.  I have yet to see any of that in Greece.
